Winter is coming, temperatures are dropping, and our skin and makeup need extra support. After years of testing products that either didn’t work for me or didn’t suit my skin, this past year has been a journey in perfecting my beauty and makeup routine with products that consistently perform well and complement my makeup style. Makeup can be quite expensive, especially high-end, quality products, so it’s easy to feel like you’re spending a lot without finding items that truly meet your needs. Today’s blog post aims to help you save time, money, and energy by highlighting some of the best makeup products currently on the market.

Before diving into my routine, I want to note that I have very dry skin, so most of the products I’ll mention are cream-based. I find that these don’t dry out my skin and help me achieve the dewy look I love. Although I use them for my dry skin, many of the products I’ll discuss are versatile and work across skin types, with rave reviews from experts and users alike. These products are investment-worthy and adaptable to many makeup styles and looks.
Let’s get started!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
This is one product I discovered only six months ago, but I’m completely hooked and can’t imagine switching to anything else. The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer suits all skin types, and its excellent shade range ensures you’ll find your perfect match. It’s versatile enough for anything from a natural “no-makeup” look to full glam. The concealer works especially well under the eyes, giving a bright, lifted effect, even for those with dark circles. It has a creamy texture, applies smoothly (I find it works best with a makeup sponge), and stays put for hours. Experts recommend it for overall face use, and it really does make your skin look radiant. While it’s pricier for a concealer, I find it worth every penny—I recently repurchased it because I’m so pleased with how it performs on my skin.

Rare Beauty Liquid Blush
It’s no secret that Rare Beauty is one of the top brands on the market. I’ve tried many of their products, and they never disappoint. The liquid blush, in particular, gives a glowy, natural finish. It sets quickly, so you have to blend it out fast, but once blended, it stays put all day. The shade range is versatile, with colors for every season, each offering a beautiful, unique hue. I’m hoping to pick up a darker shade for winter. For me, it’s well worth the price—my current bottle (shade: Hope) has lasted over a year, and it’s still only half used. You only need a tiny amount, and it lasts all day. While I was initially skeptical—since so many brands have their own lines now—Rare Beauty has truly earned its hype.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand
If you’re ready to step into the professional side of makeup, this product is for you. The Hollywood Contour Wand has an easy-to-use formula that’s foolproof for sculpting and creating a glowy complexion. My only gripe is the size—it’s only 12 ml, which lasts me about six months. I’ve repurchased it three times, but the high price has me on the lookout for dupes. Still, if you’re excited to try it, I can confidently say it’s the best contour formula I’ve ever used. My review is nothing but positive.

Benefit 24-Hour Brow Setter
My everyday makeup routine includes setting my brows upward for a more defined, edgy look. After years of struggling to find a product that holds without leaving a residue, I tried my friend’s Benefit Brow Setter and knew instantly it was perfect. I’ve tried countless dupes, but nothing compares to Benefit’s formula. It’s easy to apply, stays put all day, and works no matter what you’re doing. A single bottle lasts me almost a year. If you style your brows similarly, this is a must-have!

Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer Stick
This product is a keeper. I have the mini version of Milk’s Bronzer Stick in the shade “Baked,” and I’ve been using it daily for two years—it still has plenty left. It’s easy to apply, blends beautifully, and leaves a smooth finish. It’s ideal for dry skin, as it doesn’t leave a dry or overly matte look, instead creating a glowy, dewy effect. The product is buildable, which makes it versatile for any look. Given how long it’s lasted, the price is well worth it. If you’re in the market for a new bronzer, this one is highly recommended.
