I’m on autumn break this week, which means a full seven days without university—sounds fun, right? Last week, I decided I’d spend this break diving into things I’ve wanted to explore for ages but just couldn’t fit into my regular schedule. My plans? Cook and bake new recipes, try different types of movement, read as much as I can, and dig deeper into the world of fashion podcasts. My love for podcasts in general is what sparked this interest in fashion audio. I always feel like I’m keeping good company while learning from experts. Lately, though, I hadn’t explored anything new, sticking with my usual comfort podcasts. But I wanted to branch out, especially since fashion podcasts might also interest my readers.
So, I did some research and set out to find intriguing, enjoyable podcasts that dig into the latest in fashion. I focused on those that tackle sustainability, trends, high fashion, and are designed with Gen Z listeners in mind. I went through over 15 different podcasts and ended up with my top five favorites that I’ll definitely keep following. Let’s get into it!
The Business of Fashion Podcast

First and foremost, here’s a podcast the fashion crowd has probably heard of—The Business of Fashion Podcast. It’s a fantastic example of a comprehensive, wide-ranging channel where you can explore every corner of the fashion world without ever getting bored. This podcast, created by The Business of Fashion publication, covers everything from sustainability initiatives to the latest in fashion tech, with insider insights and interviews with key industry leaders. It’s hosted by BoF founder Imran Amed, making it a go-to source for industry news and trends.
If you’re new to it, I’d suggest starting with episodes that feature interviews with renowned designers, CEOs of top fashion houses, and thought leaders who discuss the future of sustainable fashion and digital trends like virtual fashion and NFTs. Personally, I love listening to this podcast because it’s tuned into social movements, environmental issues, and the tech side of fashion. This is a must-know podcast for anyone interested in the business and economic aspects of the industry.
Dressed: The History of Fashion
Dressed takes a different approach, diving into fashion’s place in history and society. Hosts April Calahan and Cassidy Zachary, both fashion historians, explore everything from vintage trends to fashion’s cultural impact, showing how it reflects and drives social change. This podcast is perfect for anyone into vintage fashion, upcycling, and repurposing, or just anyone interested in fashion history.

To get started, try episodes that connect past trends with today’s styles, like historical sustainable practices that are making a comeback or insights into how fast fashion started and how it impacts today’s market. It’s like stepping back in time to see how fashion evolved, and how it’s circling back in meaningful ways today.
The Cutting Room Floor
The Cutting Room Floor offers an unfiltered, raw take on the fashion industry. Hosted by Recho Omondi, this podcast is known for its candid approach—Recho frequently challenges industry norms, calls out problematic practices, and explores high fashion’s cultural influence. Her critique and commentary align with Gen Z values around transparency, inclusivity, and accountability, making it both refreshing and engaging to listen to.

If you’re starting out with The Cutting Room Floor, I’d recommend the episodes that feature interviews with controversial figures in fashion, in-depth discussions on race and representation, and debates on how the luxury industry treats creatives. It’s the place for no-holds-barred conversations that get right to the heart of the industry.
Fashion No Filter
For me, Fashion No Filter feels like a relaxed, conversational approach to fashion’s inner workings. Hosts Camille Charrière and Monica Ainley, both industry insiders, share everything from behind-the-scenes gossip to discussions on sustainability, high fashion, and even mental health in the industry. Their honest, casual tone makes it feel like you’re chatting with friends about fashion, making even complex topics feel accessible and relatable. This podcast really resonates with a digital-savvy audience that values openness and authenticity—so it’s perfect for Gen Z.

My favorite episodes are the ones I stumbled upon initially: the “behind-the-scenes” episodes. They give an inside look at Paris Fashion Week, explore influencers’ impact on fashion trends, and open up discussions on issues affecting fashion today.
Wardrobe Crisis with Clare Press

Wardrobe Crisis is a pioneer in sustainable fashion journalism. Hosted by Clare Press, Vogue Australia’s first sustainability editor, this podcast dives into sustainable fashion, ethical practices, and activism. Clare brings a wealth of expertise and hosts thoughtful discussions with activists, designers, and innovators, making each episode both informative and inspiring.
The audience here is eco-conscious, listeners who want to see real change in the industry and learn practical ways to support that change through their own fashion choices. If you’re just getting started, I’d recommend episodes featuring climate activists or case studies on brands that are paving the way for sustainable fashion.
I sought out podcasts that are engaging, refreshing, and entertaining, with plenty to learn from each episode while still feeling like I’m in great company. I’ll definitely keep listening to these channels more and more, and I hope this post gives you the inspiration to check them out, too—who knows what new perspectives on fashion you might discover!
