Here we go again! I noticed that many of you loved the first post on “Things That Instantly Make You Stylish”, and last week’s poll ended in a perfect 50-50 tie on whether the next post should be about a fall bucket list or a continuation of the previous topic. I didn’t want to leave anyone hanging, so today’s post will be a follow-up, where I’ll share more thoughts on items that, to me, scream style and fashion.

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” —Coco Chanel

Glasses:

I have to start with glasses, because I’m personally obsessed with them. I was itching to include this in the last post, but I had too many ideas at once. So here we are! Glasses are often about bold choices. If you find the right pair, they can easily become a signature piece of your style. Personally, I love searching for bold, chunky, and colorful glasses on Pinterest. There’s something so stylish about people who have mastered making them a part of their signature look. Though I’m focusing more on eyeglasses, the same goes for sunglasses—if you find a pair that truly reflects your personality, it can elevate any outfit.

When I see someone wearing bold glasses, whether on the street or social media, it instantly strikes me as stylish. It’s not easy to find a pair that complements your facial structure and adds that unique touch, but when someone does, it’s a sign of confidence and individuality. Statement glasses, for me, are synonymous with fashion-forward individuals who know how to stand out. Vivienne Westwood, for example, rocked bold glasses in her street style later in life, and it became an iconic part of her look.

For those who, like me, need prescription glasses, I used to shy away from bold choices. I always ended up choosing something safe, thinking I needed something that would go with every outfit. But now, I realize that’s the point—statement glasses don’t need to match everything. They can be the statement. Yes, glasses are a long-term commitment, so take the time to find a pair that suits you. Trust me, once you do, they won’t fail you in elevating your style.

Thoughtful Shoes:

Shoes are another area where you can make a stylish impact, and I’ve been working hard to be more intentional with my shoe choices. The idea is simple: don’t always go for the expected choice. If your go-to is sneakers, try ballet flats or loafers. If you typically wear heels, switch it up with boots. Shoes are a great way to introduce something new, whether it’s a pop of color or a different silhouette, and they can serve as a signature piece in your outfit.

At first, it might feel out of place or unusual, but bold choices are often what make someone instantly stylish. This transitional season is the perfect time to experiment before the colder weather forces more practical decisions.

Vintage Bags:

Vintage bags are such a timeless addition to anyone’s wardrobe. They carry a sense of nostalgia and disregard for constantly shifting trends, which makes them special. A vintage bag can become a key part of someone’s personal style, offering something rare and intentional, as opposed to the mass-produced, new items we often see.

For me, vintage bags evoke a “lived-in” feeling that adds character to an outfit. They tell a story, and the person carrying them also carries a unique sense of style. Not everyone can get their hands on the same vintage piece, which makes it feel personal and special. It’s a quiet yet bold way to express style.

Lived-in Denim:

Denim—whether it’s a well-fitted pair of jeans or a classic jacket—can be an essential part of your style. It’s one of my favorite materials to wear because it’s so easy to style and adds personality to any outfit. It doesn’t even have to be vintage denim. A great example of this is Kendall Jenner, who often wears jeans with the same fit but in different colors, and she styles them in unique ways. Her denim choices become a subtle statement piece in her outfits.

Denim on denim is also a huge trend right now, and it’s easy to participate in it with pieces you likely already have in your wardrobe.

Signature Color:

Finally, let’s talk about signature colors. Finding a color that works with your skin tone, hair, and overall wardrobe can become a thoughtful part of your personal style. A signature color allows you to incorporate shoes, bags, coats, sweaters, and accessories in the same hue, creating a cohesive look across multiple outfits.

From my experience and Pinterest inspiration, bold colors like red, green, and blue are popular choices for statement colors. I’ve been thinking about choosing a signature color myself, but I haven’t fully committed yet. I guess I just need to experiment more before I find “the one,” but I’m excited by the idea of it.

I hope today’s post gave you some fresh ideas and motivation to explore and elevate your personal style. There’s so much out there when it comes to self-expression through fashion, and it excites me to keep evolving my own look while inspiring others to do the same!
