Chic Fall Wardrobe: Red, Green, Animal Prints, and Suede Trends

Fall is always a special time for fashion enthusiasts, for sure. As the weather gets colder, it opens up possibilities for layering, incorporating new pieces into our wardrobes, and wearing cozy yet cute outfits. Fashion’s cyclical nature allows us to blend nostalgia and history with innovation in clothing and accessories. We can tell stories through how we dress, and I think that’s beautiful in every way.

Fall holds a special place in my heart when it comes to seasons, so every year I wait impatiently to discover the new trends and ideas behind the upcoming season and to see how others interpret their visions. As summer comes to an end, I love spending time learning, reading, and watching what others predict in the fall fashion forecast, mostly to find inspiration and broaden my knowledge. After close investigation, I’ve noticed that this fall we will see a lot of bold expressions, a balance of timeless elegance, and a strong focus on sustainability. In this post, I will focus on different colors and prints, accessories, materials, and timeless pieces that we will likely see a lot of in the upcoming season.

Colors

As I’ve mentioned before, green and red are definitely the top colors of the season, but both come in special shades that are already dominating in various ways. Burgundy, or as others call it, dark cherry red, is making a huge comeback. We see it in accessories, shoes, and bags as a pop of red, but I’ve also noticed beautiful coats, knitted pieces, and sets that create an incredibly chic look. To me, any shade of red is timeless—it never really goes out of style; it just experiences a resurgence from time to time. In my opinion, investing in red-colored pieces, particularly accessories, is worthwhile because they will always contribute to an impeccable look.

Green also has a special tone that is experiencing a golden age at the moment. The more I explore green pieces, the more I realize that many different shades of green are currently having their moment. It’s probably because fall is a season when we tend to dress in more natural colors, but now, we’re also seeing these shades debut on the runways. I feel that green has so many beautiful variations that, regardless of our different skin tones and preferences, we can each find a shade that works best for us.

Animal Prints

Last year, leopard print made a huge comeback at the beginning of the season, and we probably didn’t expect it to remain popular for over a year. The more I ask people about their opinions on animal print, the more I’m convinced that it’s a love-it-or-hate-it trend. Last year was the first time I introduced some animal print into my wardrobe, and I tried to find my own way of styling it. For me, accessories and small pieces with animal print work better than full clothing items. I find them easy to style, and they add a cute detail to my outfits. While I adore full animal print looks, I’ve accepted that they’re not for me—although if you can incorporate them into your style, I’m sure you’ll nail it!

At the moment, I’m loving cow-print bags and hair accessories, and Ganni-style flats in animal print are just the right vibe for fall.

Suede / Cowboy Core

This last one might be my overall favorite because suede is something so timeless, chic, and elegant that I just can’t put it into words. We’ve been seeing suede for a while now, but in very different contexts, like the quiet luxury trend and the western trend. These two trends are very different from each other, yet both use suede as their core material, which, to be honest, I absolutely love.

For a more sophisticated look, I adore suede maxi bags, which make an outfit look so much more expensive and chic. A great example of this is The Row’s Margaux and De Mellier bags.

The western/cowboy trend is something entirely different, but I think it’s probably the most sustainable trend of all. Incorporating cowboy boots, hats, and jackets can be really easy, especially when exploring thrift stores. This trend allows us to play with multiple suede items in one outfit and give new love to amazing vintage pieces.
