How to Embrace the Old Money Trend: Sustainable and Timeless Fashion

Trends set a tone for every season, especially with so many It Girls promoting each of them on social media, but what makes a trend a waste of time and how do we know if it is a keep?

If we look back on the last decade of fashion and trends, we can all agree on the fact, that simple, minimalist and natural choices never got out. The more vibrant and innovative something is, the better possibility that people are going to get sick of it with time. That is why, the best solution for trends will always be, to be unique. Trends are good in a way, it makes movements in fashion, it gives us inspiration and shows new ideas for people, but you can never have your own style if you are only building it up on trends.

This summer, the Old Money trend made me excited to think about new fits, because this is finally something which can be sustainable, elegant, chic, yet really easy to put together. You do not have to buy anything new for your wardrobe, because the pieces that you need for these outfits are probably in your closet, already. These looks can be solved by basic, capsule pieces, like a white t-shirt, a blue shirt, satin skirts and loafers or ballett flats, which can be found in any thrift stores or in online secondhand apps. The main idea behind the looks is to look cleaned up, put together, but with a minimal effort, using just the most basic colors, like white, black, beige, blue, brown, basically and accessorizing them with different patterns like stripes or polka dots, to make them look more elevated.

If you want to try to throw on an old money fit for this summer all you have to do is search on Pinterest and maybe take a look in your grandparents wardrobe to find something vintage, to make your look even more interesting. 🙂

Until then, here are some of my ideas and favorite fits of this trend.
